Personal Development
I was born on the 14th of August in 1991 in Bremen, Germany, where I spent the first 19 years of my life, before moving to a village nearby Bremen.
Ever since I was a small child I loved playing sports, especially football. At the age of 4, when I received my first football, I would go out in the park with my Father or in the courtyard and play for hours, regardless of whether someone is playing with me or not. When I received my first football kit, I would always wear it in kindergarten during the breaks. It was also during that time, that I joined the football club "BTS Neustadt Bremen", where I played until the age of 16. My greatest achievements in football were two division championships and two second places in the states cup of Bremen. I believe that these achievements and the fact that I also tried out other sports (Badminton, Tae-Kwon-Doo) contributed to my aim of becoming a professional sports manager.
However, as I finished my "Abitur" (equivalent to "A-Levels") in 2010, it took two years for me to really figure out, what I want to do as a profession in the future. I was volunteering in the military, which taught me respect, fellowship and punctuality, which I am really thankful for. As much as I enjoyed the physical aspects of the job (especially in during the basic training), I was missing something in my professional life during the time as a military volunteer. When I felt the urge to move on to something different, I found out about the "International Sports, Management and Business" programme at the "Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences", applied and got admitted. Since I am studying within this programme for more than one year now, it has drawn clear that this was one of the best experiences in my life. Therefore, I am really thankful for the trust the lecturers and officials within my University have in my progress.

London Fieldtrip
02/2013
During the London fieldtrip as part of the "International Sports, Management and Business" programme we heard a lecture from Julius Musangea (UK sports) about his sport development agenda, saw the Olympic village after the Olympics, talked and interacted with blindfolded Football athletes, heard a lecture at the Newham City Council about the London 2012 legacy (infrastructure projects) and had the opportunity to have a look at the Wimbledon Tennis venue. Overall, it was an exciting trip with a lot of insights in the world of sport.
Switzerland Fieldtrip
11/2012
In Switzerland our class heard speeches from Sport Accord, World Rowing, the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry, the UN sport development group and Jean-Loup Chappelet (expert on Olympic games) at the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration. Further, we had the opportunity to ride a few rounds in the cycling dome of the UCI (international cycling union) and to volunteer at the "Swiss Cup" gymnastics event in Zurich. All in all, this gave me great insights into international governance with regards to sports management.
